Day 23 – New Years Eve

Contemplating NYE on an ocean rowing boat is certainly a unique proposition. There’s not much to consider in terms of who to invite. We’d expect that every member of the crew will be awake to celebrate the arrival of 2025. Activities will be limited to rowing or calling family and friends at home and as for refreshments there’s always a freeze dried meal or a snack bar. There is a chance that the crews have secured a bottle of bubbles onboard to crack open at midnight but it won’t last long.

The music selection will be limited to whatever the crews have brought with them. We’ve asked the crews what they’re listing to today to prepare for 2025.

Ocean’s Elite have been listing to an Avici running tracks album and Teenage Dirtbag.

Rowing Stones’ top three tracks in no particular order are Abigal – Paulo Nutini, L’aigle noir – Barbara and Samba Rubro Negro. That’s certainly one eclectic mix.

Happy new years eve to all our supporters and friends. We hope that 2025 starts with a bang and offers you everything you strive for.

  • Day 12 – Repairs

Yesterday was a day of fixing systems for both crews. This feels a little bit like a right of passage in some ways. • Day 49 – 7 weeks at sea

After seven weeks at sea our crews have had some incredible experiences over the last 7 weeks at sea. Whales, dolphins, sunrises, sunsets, storms and squalls.
