Day 54 – On final approach

Rowing Stones are on final approach into Barbados. They have 15 nm between them and the finish line and half of that will be from the northern point of the island down the west coast to Port St Charles. The crew will have spent the night rowing and looking over their shoulder at the lights on the horizon and as the day dawns they will now be able to make out the hills and buildings. Seeing the colour green for the first time in more than a month, the trees and grass of Barbados will appear even more alluring to the crew than they would if in a travel brochure.

The team have a massive crowd of fans who have arrived on the island and are cannot wait to greet the crew into Pier One at Port St Charles.

At the moment we expect them to land at Port St Charles between 14:00 and 16:00 but this is subject to change depending on their progress and weather condition.

We cannot wait to see our brothers and welcome them back to land for an excellent celebration.

  • Day 23 – New Years Eve

Contemplating NYE on an ocean rowing boat is certainly a unique proposition. There’s not much to consider in terms of who to invite.
