Ocean's Elite at sunset

Day 5 – Wildlife

What a glorious thing it is to receive a message like the one below from Rowing Stones.

We had the most beautiful day today. The sea was quite flat, blue sky, and the mission was to reach our next waypoint before the weather changes. We had to stop on our tracks however, as we spotted a huge whale just a few meters away from the boat. We the spent the next two hours under a beautiful sunset playing with her, and her two calves. At some point the baby even passed under our boat at arms length, looking at us in the eyes. Joachim got his torso under water and got some great images.
So looking at where we are, we’re not breaking the record, but we sure are so happy to be where we are.

Rowing Stones

Not to be outdone, Ocean’s Elite have clearly got themselves organised and are starting to get the bit between their teeth. Their course has improved and the team are clearly loving being out on the ocean.

Nothing to report except we’re having an amazing time! Another turtle and a sea snake cape up to Isabel – Lou missed them both! Going to head more west tomorrow.

OCEAN’s ELITE

It is clear that after a testing first few days on the water that both crews have found their feet and are making the most of the rare opportunity that they have been gifted. We’re jealous and wish we were out there with them.
